A couple of awesome power trio cds in tthe jazz relm that I can't recoment highly enough .
Trio Beyond : Jack DeJohnette - drums, John Scofield -guitar, and Larry Goldings - organ .
"The trio was formed by drummer Jack DeJohnette and guitarist John Scofield, after conversations between the pair about how important Tony Williams was for them in that he provided musical influence as drummer and bandleader. Organist Larry Goldings, another admirer of Williams' uncanny sense of time and rhythmic pulse, was invited to join Scofield and DeJohnette to form the trio that pays tribute to The Tony Williams Lifetime band of the 1970s." - wiki
Going Back Home - Ginger Baker Trio . Charlie Haden - bass, and Bill Frisell - guitar . If you haven't heard this, a rather lyrical, musical cd . It was this one that made take Ginger a little more serriously. In the Cream reunion, I was most impressed with him . He may as good, or better than he ever was .
Both of these records should please some of you people here .

I know WT likes Cream, and Ginger Baker . And from most of what I have read here, I think the kind of improvisation/sound on these cds would appeal to a lot of folks here . What got me to post these , is I saw In the Phish thread, talking about Oysterhead, and drummers , and I thought about these albums . I thought a new post might reach more people , that buried in the Phish thread .

One of my favs is garage a trois or anything with Stanton Moore he is the drummer for galactic and is one hell of a funky drummer. Stanton has his own trio or check out some shows with Will Bernard and Robert Walter on archive prob more in the soul jazz, funk category but well worth the listen.
